Domain Registration
This is the address or what a user types in in order to get to your website. Registering a domain name depends the type of business, availability and finding one that reflects what your business or organization is about. The fee for registering a domain name is usually under 20.00 unless you opt for more than a one year subscription. There are many, many domain registration services but often the web host you choose will provide this service to you, sometimes included in the initial package price or as an additional fee.
Web Hosting
We do not provide web hosting but can assist you with selecting and signing up for a web hosting service. The cost of hosting a website depends on the type of website you need hosted and will usually give you a choice of packages in order to accomodate your needs. The fees can be charged on a monthly, quarterly or yearly basis and may include an initial set up fee. For a basic website package, the typical fee is often under 10.00 a month and can be upgraded. There are hosting services that offer 'free' hosting. However, these free services will often require that you place their advertisements and the advertisements of their sponsors on your website or that their website address appears before yours.
Marketing
The front and back end content of a website is vital to search engine functions. As the way an engine looks for information changes, so should your website. There are many businesses on the web that specialize in search engine optimization and submission and those that will also build a link exchange for you. Bear in mind that these services can be expensive and you may have little to no control on how your website is described. Should you decide to use one of these services, be aware of the methods they use to submit websites, which engines they submit to and how they will be describing your site. Also, remember that local advertising is also important and submitting to more localized search engines and directories geared toward your business type can be beneficial. The cost of submitting to most major engines depends on the type of submission you want. Most allow free manual submission or may provide a package of some sort, pay-per-click or sponsored.
